I know it has been a really long time since I have posted. I am in a funk. I don't want to do anything!! I am not sure what is happening but I have not made anything fun in a long time. It's spring now so I feel like I need to make some changes. In honor of spring I think I need to renew myself too. Therefore I think I will change this blog up a bit and make it more then the normal arts and crafts type blog. I am going to make it about creating a new me as well. We are the most important canvas we have. I have a lot of health issues. The one that causes me the most trouble is chronic pain. I have fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy and arthritis so between the three I am in pain 24/7. Does not make me want to do a whole lot even though I think if I did more I may feel better.
So, from today one this blog is going to be about creating a new me.
Join me on my journey as I change with the seasons. So, this is spring, what should I do in honor of spring? Maybe start walking on the treadmill or riding the bike, paint some flowers? Today I declare it...anyone want to start this journey with me???

Too Many Ideas
Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with thoughts and ideas that I almost become over stimulated and can't seem to do anything at all. I have way too many ideas and plans of things I want to make that at the moment I seem to not be able to do anything at all. It's like where do I start? I
I have figured out a way to get my studio space in shape that is very inexpensive too. I hate clutter and find it very difficult to work in it so I have been wanting some way to cover all of my supplies. At the moment everything is organized inside of blue dishpans that I bought at the dollar store. They work great but as I continue to add to my supplies the pans are over loaded and it looks bad. So, I use to sell Avon and have several of their boxes. I found some nice contact paper that had an "easy on the eye" pattern and have been covering boxes ever since. I also have some large cans from hot chocolate mix that my daughter saved for me. Everything looks so nice covered in this paper now and with the lids I can put everything away and cover it up. No clutter anymore. I also bought this antique canister on a trip I took that I picked up really cheap and I think it looks pretty cool. My studio is coming along. I can't wait until I feel it is cool enough...LOL...

It's been awhile since I have posted. It has been busy here for me. I took a great weekend trip to Pt. Townsend and had a party in my brain the entire time! There is some great things to see over there. Lots of galleries and artisians making their products as you shop. I loved it!!
I have lots of things coming to share with you so be patient and I will be posting some pictures of things I am making and ideas I have gotten from other blogs as well. I can't wait!!

Just wondering what everyone has been able to accomplish so far in the new year in your crafting and sewing world.
I have not done much at all!! My studio space is currently a total wreck. I have moved it for one thing and then expanded it. Now I have to reorganize everything because it is in a visual space of my house and not someplace where I can close the door and walk away from it. Currently it is total destruction. Due to some physical issues I have not been able to get the job done. But, I plug away at it little by little. Once finished I will post pictures. I would love to others peoples studios or craft areas. I am always looking for a new idea for organizing. So, maybe by Monday next week I can put up pics of my space.

Pasta Salad, yes I cook!
So, I had some pasta salad from a pizza place awhile back that was awesome!!! so, I decided to make one of my own with my own touch of course. And since I did not have their recipe I had to make one of my own that was close enough. Just let me tell ya, it was AWESOME.
So, here is the recipe.
1 box of rotini rainbow pasta, cooked.
A handful or two of raw spinach leaves. Just use how much you want.
3 or 4 slices of red onion cut in fourths. Also do this to your taste.
I use a mix of parmesan, romano and asiago cheese. I bought the kind that is shaved and not grated just because I really love it.
A few grape tomatoes cut in half
and the key...a bottle of Zesty Italian dressing.
Now there is not right or wrong way to put this together or measure. It is all to taste. If you want more spinach leaves put them in..or if you really really like a lot of onion add some more...etc etc..
The dressing, I used a good half of the bottle. I bought just a normal size bottle of dressing. So, it is all about your taste. Just let me tell you that I love it!! So, try it and let me know what you think.

Will anyone ever join me????
Am I asking too much here by only having this blog for three days now and not having any followers? How do we find followers anyway? I posted it on Facebook and thought that would be someone at least one!! Oh well even if I am the only one I am enjoying doing it and it is actually inspiring me to create stuff so that I can have pictures of things to share. I am creating a box of love for a gift right now. It is not finished but I will post a picture of it anyway. I still always have the feeling of "is it good enough" will they love it or think it is stupid etc..etc...but I do it anyway. I love it, what can I say. I really do enjoy it regardless of what others think so I do it.
I finally bought me some gesso and I love it. I used it as the base on this box. It is a paper mache box I purchased at a craft store. And I have some of those Sakura pens. Both the glaze and the souffle. I love the pens a lot and plan to buy other kinds of them. The glaze is especially fun to use. The flow is awesome and the colors stand out beautifully. They also are kinda 3D which is fun too. The theme is love, friendship and family. So, I wrote all sorts of things on the lid regarding those three topics. I am not finished with the bottom of the box though. There will be different textures and designs on it as well. I used tissue paper and used dryer sheets on the top to create texture on top of the writing. The drew on it with a sakura red glaze pen. The hearts with wings represent the love that this person shares with the world etc...So, I don't know what do you think? I have seen boxes like this sell for over $50.00 and they did not look any better then mine, which is encouraging to me. It does not mean it is a great piece of art but it does mean people are willing to pay for it anyways...LOL...
Happy New Year Everyone...mayb you have a very creative and properous New Year.

See what I made!!
So, last night I sat down and made this card. I used a piece of fusing and ironed the scraps that I have collected to it then ironed that to the top of a piece of cardstock. I always feel like something is missing or it can be better but overall I like it. I am going to use it as a birthday card. Today I think I am going to work on a box for a gift. I have all these ideas in my head if you could see them somehow you would think I believed I was a great artist..lol. Well I will take a picture of the box when it is finished and share it with you too.
I hope that I get some followers soon that will share their stuff too.
Oh...I think I will do some sewing on this card too. Maybe outline some of the fabric just to add a bit more detail.
